What is Low-Tox Living?
Low-tox living is about reducing the number of unnecessary chemicals in our homes, food, and everyday products. It's about making small, intentional swaps that reduce our exposure and protect our health and wellbeing. Every choice we make about what we bring into our homes and put on our bodies matters for our long-term health.
Why It Matters
Many of the products we use every day — from cleaning sprays to cosmetics to packaged foods — contain hidden chemicals that can affect our health. By choosing simpler, safer alternatives, we take control of what we're exposed to and make choices that support our wellbeing. These choices add up over time, making a real difference in how we feel day to day.
My Story
For me, the shift into low-tox living was personal.
Over 15 years ago, I developed multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), and my world began to feel smaller and smaller as I struggled with everyday exposures. I eventually found tools, including the DNRS program, that helped me regain my health and resilience.
Even now, I choose to avoid many common chemicals — not just because of my history with MCS, but because I believe these products aren't good for anyone. Most people may not notice the effects immediately, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. Just because someone doesn't react as strongly as a sensitive person doesn't mean those chemicals aren't affecting their health.
My Mission
Simply Low Tox is here to make the journey easier for others. I want to help people cut through the overwhelm, choose healthier products with confidence, and reconnect with the basics — like eating real food, using fewer packaged goods, and simplifying our homes. We may not be able to live a completely toxin-free life, but we can all take steps towards a lower-tox lifestyle. And those small steps add up to a big difference.
